A recurring motif in my work is the human body, in the form of self-portraits, through which I explore the complexities and social norms regarding themes as gender, neurodiversity and variation in mental state. In my artistic research I draw inspiration from the theoretical frameworks and movements of Mad Pride, Queer Ecology and Ecofeminism.
In my work I combine various media including drawings on photographic prints, 3D objects made from photographic prints, life drawing performance and animation. In this way, I seek to unpack the multi-layered nature and ambiguity of the themes in my work and to challenge the Eurocentric frameworks that have reduced them to binary concepts.
My creative process is characterised by serendipity in according to the behaviour of materials and a site-specific approach, as seen in the exhibitions at Exboot, a former workplace for sex workers and ArToll Labor, a former psychiatric institution.
