In recent years, Janneke Berendsen has conducted various empirical and literature studies in the field of inclusive and accessible art education.
These studies focused on highlighting the lived experiences of pupils and students whose perspectives are often under-represented. To achieve this, the studies were designed on the basis of an intersectional approach and (in the case of empirical research) the principles of participatory action research.
